Immortal Herbs Totalnutrition offers a healthy drink, from the inside out! The TotalNutrition superfood formula is made from quailty ingrediets that offer a great ammount of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and other nutrients that will help you feel energized all day! The ingredients used to make this awesome power-packed powder are 100% all natural, organic, GM)-Free, Vegan, Raw, and Guten-Free. It's a drink that you can feel good about putting in your body!

Immortal Herbs recently offered to send me a sample pack of their TotalNutrition product to try for myself! I love trying new products that can help me live a healthier lifestyle, so I was excited to be able to try this product. I have tried other protein and health shakes, so I figured this would be a nice thing to try, because it is organic and all natural, unlike some of the other ones I have tried.

One drink is 30 calories. This is about 1/3 of the calories of other drinks I have tried. The drink left me feeling full and ready to start my day. I felt more energized throughout the day, and on days when I don't have breakfast or anything before I leave the house. I was able to walk around camps without feeling tired like I normally do, due to a lack of sleep. The flavor wasn't too bad. I think it would be really good if you mixed in it with your favorite juice. If I were to try it again, i think I would add it to some V8 Splash.

Apple Picking and Single Serve Apple Pies!

Yesterday I went apple picking with my boyfriend and one of our good friends. We went to a local orchard called Beak and Skiff. They are famous for their amazing Apple Cider and Apple Cider Donuts, both of which are AMAZING! We got to go to their tasting room, where you are able to sample Hard Cider, Vodka, Wine, and Gin for free!

Here are some photos of our trip!

This is my friend Kelly. She lives with her face in her phone.

Anyways, after we got home I realized that we had a TON of apples. I really wanted to make some apple crisp, but I did not have enough brown sugar or oatmeal. I then decided I wanted to make an apple pie, but go figure that I didn't have a pie tin. While I was searching the net I came across this recipe for Single Serving Apple Pies made inside of the apple! I just knew I had to try this out!

What I used:
4 large Cortland apples (I used the 4 biggest apples I could find from out batch that we picked)
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons of flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon (you can use more or less, depending on how much you like)
1 pie crust

What I did:

Preheat oven to 370.

I lined a cookie sheet with tin foil. I placed four apples on the cookie sheet and cut the tops off of the apples. You can cut the tops of into chunks and add it to the rest of the apple chunks in the next step, I just gave them to my guinea pig.

Scoop out the insides. I found it was easiest to scoop out a bit from the top first (put the scooped out apple in a bowl), then take a knife and cut around the core then scoop the core out. After I did that I scooped out the rest and put it in the bowl with the rest of the apple chunks.

Mix the flour, sugar, and cinnamon. Mix in with the apple chunks in the bowl.

Put the apple mixture back inside the apples. Set aside for a couple minutes while you do the next steps.

Use a cookie cutter, or cut by hand, sections of pie crust that are large enough to cover the tops of your apples.

Use a straw to make some holes in the top of the crust.

Place the crust on top of the apples. Do not mold the crust to the apples like I did.

Bake for 20-30 minutes. Keep your eyes on it. Cook basically until the crust is lightly browned. If you over cook it, the apple will kind of cave in on itself. A couple of mine did, while it might look funny it will still taste great!

You can top with caramel and whipped cream like i did, or eat it as is. I might try it with some ice cream next time

*Each apple uses:
 1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tbsp all purpose flour
1/4 tsp powdered cinnamon

Adjust the amount you need depending on the number of apples you are using. The amounts I listed as a part of my recipe are for four large apples.

Let me know if you try this recipe out!

O2Cool Mist 'n Sip Review

Stay cool on the field, at the beach, or in the woods with the Mist 'n Sip water bottle by O2Cool! These patented misting water bottles provide the option of misting cool water on the outside while you stay refreshed on the inside!

Over the summer I was sent 3 different Mist 'n Sip water bottles to review! These bottles are seriously awesome! I brought them on vacation to Maine with me and they were super helpful! I really like that instead of having to waste water by dumping your bottle on your head, you are able to spray a light mist on yourself where you need some cooling!

The pink bottle is from the O2Cool 20oz. Classic Mist 'n Sip line. This is a hard plastic bottle. The mist trigger is easy to use. I like that the bottle has lines that show how much water you have in the bottle. This can make mixing drinks other than water easier, or can help you keep track of your water intake each day. I really love the color of this bottle. Pink is one of my favorite colors, so this was a pleasant surprise!

The light grey bottle with the purple detailing is from the O2Cool ArcticSqueez(TM) Insulated Mist 'n Sip line. This bottle is a softer easy-to-squeeze water bottle. This bottle is a little easier to drink out of than the previous.  The bottle is a little lighter, making it perfect for hiking, camping, or sporting events.

The dark grey bottle with red detailing is from the O2Cool ArcticSqueeze(TM) Classic line. It has a simple easy-to-squeeze design. This bottle was the lightest of them all. My boyfriend likes this bottle the most.

I really love all of these bottles! They were really useful on my trip to Maine. Since I brought all three of them with me, I let my friends use the two I wasn't using. We used them at the beach and on hikes through the woods. We all really love the misting feature. The misting tripper was super easy to use. My friends have never heard of this type of bottle before, they thought it was pretty awesome that someone came up with this design! I will certainly continue to use these bottles and encourage my friends to try them out as well!  If you watch carefully below you can see the misting in action!!

Teas' Tea Review

Do you love unsweetened tea? If so, Teas' Tea has the perfect tea for you! Tea's Tea is a leader int he unsweetened tea industry. For over ten years, Tea's tea has been making various types of tea products such as Unsweetened, "Plus", "Classic", and "Latte". They offer a little something for everyone!

Tea's Tea prides itself for their recycling program and Eco-friendly packaging. In 2006, the company generated around 42,00 tons of used tea leaves, and since then that number has grown each year. tea's tea realized that there was a need for recycling. Leaves used by the company are later used as a natural fertilizer, animal feed, boards made from tea leaves, synthetic resin, plaster boards, and various types of paper products. Tea's Tea says they will continue to research way to sue their leaves in a way that will benefit the planet.

I recently got the opportunity to try Tea's Tea for myself! I drink sweet tea on an almost daily basis, so I thought it would be fun to try something new! The flavors I received are Unsweetened Rose Green Tea, unsweetened Jasmine Green Tea, and Half and Half Aceorla Cheery Green Tea.

Rose Green Tea

To be honest, I didn't really like the unsweetened teas, but  I can tell that if you do like unsweetened tea, that this tea would be very good. It tasted really fresh, unlike a lot of bottled teas I have had before. I like that it didn't taste like powdered tea. I find that [problem with a lot of other teas as well. The ingredients for this tea are Purified Water, Green Tea, Dried Rose Petals, and Ascorbic Acid. The had a very distinct rose flavor to it. it was pretty interesting. My favorite thing about this tea is that it contains 1/3 the caffeine that coffee has. I have a caffeine sensitivity so I like when products have less caffeine. Generally more than one soda or coffee will make me sick.

Jasmine Green Tea

Of the three flavors, this one was my least favorite. I think that the Jasmine was a little overpowering in this tea. Like I said earlier, if you like unsweetened tea, then you will probably really like this. I think it would make a great night time tea, before bed. It had a soft flavor that one might associate with sleepiness. Ingredients in this tea include Purified Water, Jasmine, Green Tea, and Ascorbic Acid.

Half & Half Acerola Cherry Green tea

Wow, I actually really like this one! I love the cherry taste that this one had. It was sweet and fruity. The Half & Half teas contain more calories than the other teas because they contain juice and sugar. I like that this contains sugar instead of artificial sweetener, as artificial sweeteners can leave a bad taste behind.

Overall, I think that these were pretty good products. While they may have not been for me, I am sure that if you like unsweetened tea you will like Teas' Tea. They all tasted really fresh and seemed like they are made with quality ingredients. I really enjoyed the Half & Half, so give it a try!

Daregal Fresh Frozen Gourmet Herbs

I received a sampler of Daregal Gourmet fresh frozen herbs to review as a part of a Blog Friendly PR campaign. All opinions are my own and no compensation was received.

Daregal Fresh Frozen Herbs are ready-to-use frozen chopped herbs. Freshly chopped herbs are a great alternative to powdered or dried herbs because frozen herbs retain more of the flavor, nutrients, and scent. With theses chopped herbs you will save time by not having to waste it by needing to chop the herbs yourself, you also won't have to throw out any stems or other waste associated with food-prep. Daregal Fresh Frozen herbs can be used in place of dried herbs in pretty much any recipe that calls for the herb you need. These herbs can be used as a garnish, in a salad dress in, pasta sauce, marinades, dips and more! They contain no preservatives like dried herbs do.

I recently was sent a couple of herbs from Daregal to try for myself! I love trying new healthier foods, so this opportunity was great for me! Being in college limits the time I am able to cook, so I like how convenient these were.

Chives:
I love fresh chives, I often eat them without cooking them. These were great, they were way better than any chives I have grown myself. They tasted super fresh, just like they had been picked from a garden. I do have to admit that I ate a few chopped pieces right out of the box. As for this item cooked, I haven't had a lot of time this month to cook anything fancy, so I just made some elbow macaroni with vodka sauce. For this, I used a recipe form the web, but changed it a little.
Ingredients:
½ cup butter
1 cup vodka
2 (28oz) cans of crushed tomatoes (or tomato sauce if you don't like chunky tomatoes)
1 pint heavy cream
A sprinkle of Daregal Chives (add as much or as little as you want.

Cook vodka and butter for 10 minutes on medium heat. Mix in tomatoes and chives and cook for about 20 minutes, then pour in the heavy cream and cook for another 30 minutes. Cook pasta on the side as directed.
* I accidentally started to add the Dill, it came out pretty good though! I guess it's a bonus since this used both herbs!

Dill:

Dill is another herb I love, and so does my cat (as I write this he is eating up the leftover dill I have sitting on a plate)! I think it's one of those “take it or leave it” foods, not many people like it. More for me I guess! For the Dill, I used one of my favorite recipes: Ranch Oyster Crackers!

1 package oyster crackers.
1 ranch packet
1 tablespoon of dill
1 cup vegetable oil
1 table spoon lemon pepper
1 tablespoon garlic powder

Preheat the oven to 250. Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix until evenly coated. Spread out on a baking sheet. Bake for 15/20 minutes. You can eat these cool or warm. I love them warm! I don't have a photo of this recepie. I completely forgot to take them!

Overall, I really like this product. I prefer to use fresh ingredients over dried, because they generally taste better. I do wish the container was easier to open. It was so hard to get the top off! Other than that I totally recommend these to everyone. Daregal Fresh Frozen Chopped Herbs can be purchased here. Be sure to check them out, as they have a wide rang of herbs to try!
